Meet Our Team

Bambi Klyse

Founder

Bambi's early years were marked by extraordinary challenges, including homelessness, a fractured family, and profound personal losses. At just 15, she navigated instability, finding refuge in tree forts and on friends' couches. Despite these adversities, she graduated early with honors.

In 2013, Bambi faced a series of life-altering events, including the sudden death of her mother and multiple personal tragedies. These events led to a significant decline in her mental health, but a timely intervention—a knock at her door—provided a turning point.

For the past eight years, Bambi has worked with Five Loaves, Two Fish at the Novato United Methodist Church, conducting outreach at local encampments and bringing food and hope to those in need. This experience gave her valuable insights into the challenges faced by the unhoused community.

Bambi co-founded Camp Compassion and has been instrumental in providing compassionate peer support to its residents. She tirelessly advocates for housing options, speaks at city council meetings, and educates the public about the issues facing the unhoused community. Her unwavering efforts have built lasting relationships with our unhoused neighbors and secured essential support for the community.

As an officer of the Marin chapter of the California Homeless Union, Bambi champions equitable practices and fair legal policies. Through MPRCC, she empowers individuals and advocates for policy change, always championing compassionate solutions. Bambi's dedication to social justice and her unique perspective makes her a powerful advocate for those who are often silenced.
